Finally—An Exciting Gaming Subscription
All the indies, for only $7/mo.
Starting April 13, you can get access to a trove of indie goodness for the low price of $6.99 a month (plus tax). There are some recognizable names here, like Dark Deity and Everwarder, but we’re definitely not talking about your super giant indie games, if you catch my drift.
I’m glad that the people behind Indie Pass have created this platform. It’s a space where people can be exposed to more indie games after a relatively low barrier, especially when compared to Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus.
In other games market news, Steam (almost) has a fresh new look.
The summer of games announcements is upon us. Microsoft has confirmed its showcase for June 7, just two days after Geoff Keighley’s SGF adstravaganza. Expect "huge news on upcoming titles" as well as "first gameplay looks" from both first-party and third-party games. The real question is, how many other big names in the industry will have their own dedicated Direct this summer?
Why Burned-Out Professionals Are Turning to CBD
Job burnout is on the rise, but a 2022 CBDistillery study found that participants taking CBD and CBG reported reduced mild or temporary anxiety and increased focus. The leading brand for high-quality, lab-tested CBD solutions, CBDistillery offers multiple formulas with CBD and CBG – and code FOCUS will save you 20% on this bundle.

A community-run event for the past 12 years could be made official in World of Warcraft according to a data leak, and this event would be in celebration of pride in June. As a queer man who’s never really gotten into WoW, all I can say is, hell yeah.
Honestly, the image says it all. This is all alleged, to be fair, as this former translator posted their account on Reddit with some validation from a fellow translator who went on the record.
Bad News in the Industry
To end on a lighter note, we compiled a list of all the silly pranks we saw in the games industry on April Fools’ Day. My favorite was Capcom playing into the conspiracy that Pragmata is a Mega Man game. It’s insidious because, like all good jokes, there’s some truth in there (I swear, you gotta believe me).
