It's a Sony Kind of Week

Get the lowdown on this week's State of Play.

PlayStation’s eating pretty well, huh? Sony reported that it passed the 75 million units sold milestone this week thanks to an incredibly successful quarter.

This week, we got a lengthy presentation of the near future for PlayStation games, with surprise reveals, lots of release date confirmations, and very little fluff. Catch up on everything you might have missed at our State of Play recap, which includes release dates for Borderlands 4, a new Lies of P DLC, and the exciting reveal of Housemarque’s next project (you might remember them from Returnal).

In the state of play, we also saw a trailer for Split Fiction, Hazelight Studios’ next co-op game. Our writer Erren Van Duine got a behind-the-scenes peek at more, and she even interviewed creative director Josef Fares about his philosophy behind these co-op games.

Though surprisingly, new Astro Bot levels were confirmed via a PlayStation Blog post instead of the State of Play presentation. These levels will present more challenge to test your platforming prowess.

Avowed comes out next Tuesday (including on Xbox Game Pass), and it really impressed our reviewer Austin Suther. As expected from an Obsidian game, the writing is excellent, but the combat systems bring a lot to the table, too.

It’s coming to Xbox Game Pass, so if you’re already subscribed, you’re set. Otherwise, if you buy it on Xbox, you’ll be able to also play it on Blizzard’s Battle.net platform, and vice versa.

These cannabis gummies keep selling out in 2023

If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That’s why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a “joint within a gummy” that’s extremely potent yet federally-legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body’s endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990’s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes!

Speaking of Blizzard, the live-service company has confirmed that Diablo 4 won’t get another expansion for at least a year. Expect a more detailed roadmap for 2025 sometime this spring.

Additionally, Blizzard is doingbringing some massive updates for Overwatch 2. It’s re-adding 6v6 modes, introducing a mid-game perks system, and… lootboxes, I guess. Sounds familiar.

Warhorse Studios is setting the stage for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to have a very long tail, if it plays its cards right. Making modding easier only improves a game’s longevity—and since it’s already in nearly 2 million players’ hands, it could remain relevant for quite a while longer.

This silly lil game is kinda exactly what it is on the tin, and that’s not a bad thing. In fact, it does it so well that it’s already sold 250,000 units on Steam.
