Papers, Please Developer Has Worries About AI
Yet another feather in AI's crown of thorns.
Lucas Pope, who also made Return of the Obra Dinn, said on a podcast this week that he wants to keep his cards close to his chest for fear of generative AI. He worries about malicious people who might use AI to steal his ideas for themselves, which is a valid and fair concern.
Considering the caliber of his work, whatever game ideas he has could lead to another indie gem, so it makes sense that he’d want to be careful about sharing ideas too early. Of course, it’s also worth noting that there’s a part of him that wants to stop here and “go out on a high note,” so to speak.

Developer and publisher XLGAMES will take The Cube, Save Us offline in May. This extraction-shooter MMO hasn’t exactly had favorable reviews on Steam, and its player count according to SteamDB is only a fraction of what it was on launch. This isn’t as high profile as Highguard or Concord, but it is another sign of just how difficult the live-service space is right now. Attention is in low supply and high demand.
Stop Losing Your Money. It's time to upgrade your trading platform.
Your current trading platform is probably letting you down
Limited assets (no international stocks, no commodities, no pre-IPO companies)
Limited ability to short
Limited access to leverage
Limited trading hours
Liquid is one of the fastest growing trading platforms, allowing users to trade stocks, commodities, FX, and more 24/7/365 from their phone and computer.
Trading on Liquid is as simple as:
Pick an asset
Pick long or short
Pick your position size and leverage
Place your trade
The best part is that Liquid markets never close. So no matter what is going on in the world, you are able to keep your portfolio positioned properly.
For all you Eternal Sonata fans (yes, I see you in the back), there’s a new musically oriented turn-based RPG out there. People of Note released this week, and it’s an homage to old-school JRPGs with a battle system that revolves around Stanzas and Measures.
It’s yet another big, free update from Hello Games. This time, No Man’s Sky is striking while the iron’s hot—in the wake of the disappointment with Pokemon Champions, this update features a totally-not-Pokemon style battle arena.
Games by the Numbers: Release Dates & Sales
The game will still launch on May 27 for other platforms, but it’s too bad that the Switch 2 won’t get this game at the same time. IO didn’t give a reason, but this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a big AAA game delay on the Switch 2 specifically (like Borderlands 4).
